The boot latch not working on the Q7 is a common fault, the rear washer jet can leak directly onto the latch electrical connection and corrode causing complete failure.
In this video, I how you how to access the boot form the inside, replace the latch and test the system.
My Q7 is a 2010 4L, which is going to be the same for any 4L from 2005 to 2015. It's also exactly the same for the Volkswagen Touarag from 2002 to 2010 and some models of Porsche Cayenne from 2002 to 2010.
