PRO MAC 610 restoration. A story of another lucky chainsaw…

He has been using that saw extensively for some years, it was overheated and seized at some point and now it is almost dead and is sitting somewhere collecting dust as he's got himself something more modern.
The saw is a bit younger than my previous one, but still one of the first, judging by its serial number 90402 with prefix 11, still inside the first 100,000 units, I’d say 1980-1981.
The saw was in pretty poor condition, low compression, broken chain brake but it was almost complete, just some small parts, mostly fasteners which were missing or not original.
I decided to make it look and work as close to new as I could manage.
The piston and cylinder were damaged beyond any possible repair/usage. While looking for parts I have managed to find a complete assembly cylinder/piston/crankshaft case in a good condition for a decent price.
Some original hardware and parts are still available, no difficulties here. New gaskets, spark plug and chain go without saying.
I am happy with the result and now I have two excellent homeowner’s chain saws which I believe will not look brand new for long and will serve me for a long time.
