How Much Does An Apartment Cost in Saigon, Vietnam (in District 2)?

Описание: In this video I take you on an apartment tour to see 6 different apartments priced from $271 to $445 USD per month in Saigon, Vietnam. Now Ho Chi Minh City, aka Saigon, is huge so there are many many places to live. The city is split up into about 22 districts so I chose to concentrate the apartment search to District 2, a popular expat area. The government did rename some areas and parts of District 2 is now known as Thu Duc but many locals still often refer to it as District 2.

I could have looked at higher end apartments around $1,000 USD/month but this channel is really about living at much lower cost. And with the high cost of living in many developed cities in the US, Canada, Australia, UK and parts of Europe, why not consider a major city such as Saigon for maybe 15-30% of what you may be paying now in your home city. Please keep in mind these are just a few apartments in and around District 2. Prices vary depending on the location, amenities, your exchange rate, etc.

By far, the most effective way to find apartments in Vietnam is to join a Facebook (FB) group for apartments. Just search in FB by typing "For Rent" and the name of the city so for example, you could do a FB search "For Rent Saigon" or "For Rent Ho Chi Minh" and these groups will pop up for you to join and see what is available now. Another way is to search "Cho Thue" and the name of the city. Cho thue means "for rent" in the Vietnamese language. So you could search "Cho thue Saigon" as an example. You will find the most current rental listings this way. FB also has a translation option so even if the rental posting is in Vietnamese, you can click a button to read it in English. But the main reason to search for rentals on FB groups is to find current listings at current prices. It's a great way to see what's out there while you're still in your home country but I wouldn't recommend contacting any agent until you're actually here in Vietnam. Joining FB expat groups can also help in your search for apartments, dentists, best pizza or anything else.

Apartment 2 - https://tinyurl.com/4z8sbat4 - The same agent took me to another apartment that was along the same street as well. So both apartment 1 and 2 was on the same street.

Apartment 3 - https://tinyurl.com/3ma5835e - This apartment was serviced by Lili Apartments. The agent that I found on FB did not work for Lili Apartments. But the agent that does work for Lili showed us this room. You can see their WhatsApp contact info in this video

Apartment 4 - https://tinyurl.com/3ma5835e - This apartment building was also operated by Lili Apartments. It's a brand new building but I'm not particularly fond of new construction for rentals. I explained a little bit in the video on why I feel this way.

Apartment 5 - https://tinyurl.com/yc34tabn - I met the agent at this address but the actual apartment was across the street. This apartment is in Thao Dien, a popular expat neighborhood in District 2.
