Watership Down was a minor band active in the Long Island hardcore scene between the years of 1996 - 1998. They were Mike Catanese (vocals), Adam Dooling (guitar, screaming vocals), Nick Montella (guitar), Ed Dougherty (bass) and John Foote (drums). They met in Seaford High School except for Adam. Still don't know where he was from. He just wandered in at some point.

7" lyrics (screaming lyrics in parentheses)
Spoken Silence
I can't bite my tongue forever
or eat my words
so what better way of telling you
other than straight
that I hate myself, a little more
(instead of wanting...for you)
when remembering how I find comfort in your assurance
(I created necessity)
I guess this is what happens
when you're sorry all the time
Well I'm not sorry
(it's not your fault that my hands drip with impurity
it was the result of you)
and the bitter irony of it all
is that we always knew the truth
and look where it got us
it led to endless roads
(and I've seen the real the walking
of unwanted days
(walk straight through my hands)
next time I'll be more cautious
(but it was you and me for you)
and walk around them
(we can walk around that)
We always knew the truth
SECOND STEP STILL
(see this face)
the sun was in my eyes when I decided
(and the outcomes that were washed ashore)
to wipe away the fears of yesterday
(listen to this face and)
if you only saw what I had seen back then
(I'm scared, too scarred and never know)
you wouldn't have looked away
you'd try and grasp for the truth
And I watched this view up and alone
waiting for an echo's return
and you can't push this away
It won't fall
(and I've seen things in myself)
The sun was in my eyes when I decided
(and I have yet to know myself)
to wipe away the fears of yesterday
(yet I know where I belong)
and if you only saw what I had seen back then
(as myself, as my own home)
You would have to believe that I'd take this world
for what its worth
past every waking hour
when I used to be so attentive I'd shake
I'd try to wish away
but I could never escape from things
and all the days have passed
have left me scarred from all the hurt
it's been on my mind for way too kong
and now I've found the compassion
to get through it
IF TOMORROW EVER GETS THERE
Would you like to wait outside
are you in the mood to hang around?
because if you are
just clench my arm to let me know you're there
release this love
embrace this night
you could never seem to let these things go
while I can't hold on
and you can live in the past now
or you could wish for the past away
those times we'd wait out by my house
those times we'd never figure out
and would you ever get that chance to know
You'd never let me know that you've taken this life
and made it good
so take your time to fade away
and over time and over time
over time our lives have changed and
I can't wait to stay the same
(like a word that's been used
a thousand times before
you never checked if I'm alive
yet I'm a thousand times reborn
and if this is too hard
to realize than maybe my gut will heal
this is what I feel
and not what comes out
of your scarred gums when you say
that I didn't feel this
and then realize that this life is hell
but you made me feel for tomorrow)
