Produced by Dudley Pictures Corporation in 1952 for the Western Maryland Railway Co., "Fast Freight Rolling" paints a vivid picture of the historical and operational evolution of the Western Maryland Railway, emphasizing its role in the economic and industrial development of the United States. It discusses the history of the railroad and shows the wide variety of services provided. The film traces the route of the Western Maryland from the coal producing regions of Elkins, W.Va., to the port of Baltimore, its eastern terminus. The film features steam Challengers, Alco FAs and EMD F-units locomotives. The Western Maryland Railway (reporting mark WMoperated in Maryland, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania up until 1983.
