Описание: I love when people ask me this because it's so important to know a couple key things before starting any orthodontic treatment (braces, Invisalign etc).

1. Know what method you want to move your teeth. Some people want metal braces, some want clear, some want Invisalign while some others want lingual braces. There are many types of braces therefore getting a better understanding of what you want can help. If you want Invisalign but your Orthodontist doesn't offer that its something good to know before you get a consult.

2. Know who is treating you. Are you being treated by a general dentist who does braces a couple times a month or by an Orthodontist who sees 40 orthodontic patients a day. I would rather be treated by someone who does this everyday as they will know exactly how to treat you the most efficiently.

3. Know how long your treatment will be and anything unusual that will happen during treatment. Some people need extractions, some need appliances, some need large bite corrections. After your consult you should know how long your treatment will be, if you will need extractions, if you will need any appliances etc.

4. Know your finances! Don't be fooled by "bait and switch" type of orthodontics. If it sounds too good to be true it likely is. Try to have up front costs for everything. Make sure the office says that retainers and all visits/xrays are included in your pricing. This is where we see/hear of patients getting burned the most. Go to an Orthodontist who has great reviews so you know you will be getting great service.
