2023 SCCA Hoosier Super Tour COTA GT2 Race 2 - #81 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup - Onboard + Broadcast Edit

Описание: For this second race at COTA, I made a good getaway thanks to a sharp call from my crew chief and was able to jump to 4th place in GT2 behind the Mustang of Barry Boes. I then ended up in a McLaren GT4 sandwich, from which I was able to extract myself thanks to a pass later that lap.

After some time one of the GT-X classed McLarens caught back up and we battled for a few corners before I was passed after running wide at turn 19. This McLaren was super fast and went on to win the GT-X race in the able hands of Rafael Martinez. Going around as Rafael was slowly pulling away is where I spent most of what ended up being a fairly uneventful race.

Later on, Tony Ave, who was leading GT2 lapping seconds faster than his closest competitors had to retire which moved us all up a spot and I was then on to 3rd place in class, where I finished.

Our joy proved to be short lived as the scales found our car to be underweight by 30 lbs. It was quite jarring seeing as the car was running the same setup that passed muster at the previous event. It just goes to show the variability in these things and we'll need to adjust and be paranoid to these scale differences as we move to the rest of the races this season.

Fortunately I was moved to last in class (LIC) rather than an outright DQ which allowed me to keep this race as a credit towards SCCA Runoffs qualification.

Car: 2016 991.1 GT3 Cup at 3,000 lbs w/ 72mm throttle body restrictor and ABS. Pirelli tires. Otherwise stock.
