One of the many things I teach in my online courses is how to teach tacts and intraverbals, specifically through webbing. In this week’s video, I want to discuss my reason for focusing on and using the intraverbal subtest and provide examples of how I incorporate teaching intraverbals into my son Lucas with autism. It’s important to realize that when a child becomes older, we want to turn on the jets for autism treatment. Sometimes, this means shifting our focus from one teaching methodology to another. For Lucas for example, and a few of my other past clients, we focused on tacts and intraverbals, so they can perform jobs and ask related questions.

Shifting the focus in your autism treatment plan also doesn’t mean giving up. It means we’re looking to provide the best life for our child or client with autism. And not only do we really want to be on top of using the tactics I cover in my online course, but we want to make them a part of everyday life. Somehow we’ll want to incorporate these ABA teachings and make them part a natural part of our life, to continue to support our children and clients with autism.
