A 16-year-old girl died and her 18-year-old friend sustained critical injuries in a head-on collision on the Hume Freeway in Wodonga. The 18-year-old driver, who was out on bail, was driving a stolen Nissan X-Trail at speeds up to 150 kilometres per hour in the wrong direction before colliding with a ute. A 23-year-old man in the ute escaped with a broken arm.
