Simple Chinese Cucumber Salad Recipe

Living in Berlin, it's hard to find home made Chinese dishes that I grew up eating. So I make what I can't find, and cook what I can't buy outside. ❤️

When I have time, I really love to cook different dishes. It is kinda a meditation. Yet many times I like to make quick dishes as well and this is one of them.

I don't eat out that often because there is always sugar in everything. I rather use sugar alcohols as I don't want to eat so much sugar anymore.

Dont get me wrong,
I still enjoy sweets, or foods that taste sweet naturally, as well as sugar alcohols that pass through the system undetected. just don't want to eat regular sugar as it is literally in every premade food that we buy in the groceries store and restaurants.
and yes occasionally i will have a cake or donut ice cream pastry outside, just not so frequently as before.

I thought I would create some recipe videos to share with you what I cook and what I use. These recipes can't be found anywhere as I tweak so many recipes to my liking. lol 😂

Today's special on the menu is Chinese Cucumber Salad. It's more of an appetizer side dish to pair with the main course. Enjoy, and let me know how yours turned out.

Recipe:

Ingredients:

1-2 Cucumbers
1-2 Crushed Garlic
Squeeze of Chili Paste (can omit or add a little for kicks)
Dash of of Chili Flakes (can omit or add a little for kicks)
Splash of Roasted Sesame Oil
1 Tablespoon of Soy Sauce
1 Tablespoon of Chinese Black Vinegar
1 Teaspoon sweetener of your choice
3 drops of Szechuan Peppercorn Oil

Garnish: Black and White Sesame Seeds

Materials: A tub with a secure top to shake.

Directions:

Put all this in a tub and shake it up. Leave in the fridge to marinate for 10 minutes.

Serve on a nice bowl and garnish with mixed white and black Sesame Seeds.

serve as a side on a plate with main course.
