The Saudi-led air campaign in Yemen continued on Monday, hitting Houthi targets as well as military units loyal to former president Ali Abdullah Saleh and a house belonging to his eldest son.
Witnesses said heavy smoke rose after rockets hit Ahmed Abdullah Saleh's house, which is located in the southern part of the capital. No casualties have been reported so far.
Former president Saleh, whose own house was hit by an air strike on May 10, has been accused of supporting the Houthis in the capital Sanaa and several other Yemeni cities.
The Saudi-led alliance resumed air raids against the Shiite Houthi group in the southern port city of Aden on May 18, shortly after a truce expired on May 17.
Saudi Arabia, along with eight other Arab states, has been bombing the Houthi group and forces loyal to Saleh since March 26, aiming to reinstate the government of Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, who was forced to flee the country.
The seven weeks of air strikes, as well as ground battles between Houthi and Hadi supporters, have so far killed more than 1,400 people and wounded over 4,000 others across the crisis-ridden country, according to data released by the Yemeni government.
