Begin by looking into each other’s eyes and holding hands. Say something meaningful and sincere to one another, such as ‘Thank you for bringing such love to our relationship.’ You will find the topics and the rhythm of the meeting that resonates with you both. Here are some thought-starters to try:

Discuss the calendar for the next week/month

Align on future travel. Who will do what in the planning?

What expenses are upcoming? (Philanthropy, maintenance, travel, personal)

What are you grateful for that your partner has done this past week?

How are things going in the relationship overall?

What could be better?

What’s been the highlight of the week for you?

What’s been the toughest thing you have had to deal with this week?

Ground Rules
No interrupting during speaking turns. Use a timer?
Use “I” statements (I feel… I need…) not “You” accusations.
Keep the tone curious and constructive: ask “help me understand” instead of blaming.
