This was for a commission project. Here's the spiel they gave for their Sol Bleeds project:

Due to a computer/AI virus that ran through the vast interconnected computer systems of the Solar system, all future computers had to become highly compartmentalised, which caused computer technology to essentially freeze (think the computers in Alien). However material technology continued on, so you could for instance have a hypersonic jet with a three man crew (pilot, weapons operator, navigator). Because of this virus, and loss of their vast sensory systems, the Democratic Federation of Sol began to turn toxic as they had to rely on more and more on the ground enforcement, going from surveillance state to police state. The Feds use the mass deportation of undesirables from Earth to fuel extraterrestrial colonies on places like Venus, Saturn and beyond. This causes a strange issue where traditional Earth culture is actually stronger in the Solar system the further you get away from Earth. This situation eventually reaches a boiling point where armed insurrection breaks out across the Solar system, their are many factions, Monarchists, religious zealots, the French, but the largest opposition group is the Helios Pact. Small issue, nobody has ever fought a war in space, and warships don't really exist, so the beginning of the spaceborn conflict between the Feds and the Pact (the subject of the song) is almost entirely improvised, with full blown warships quickly being developed.
