This is part 3 of the dpf, egr and def delete. The project started as the egr went bad and was mixing exhaust in coolant. So it was either replace egr or delete… so delete is the logical path considering the next egr will fail too, common issue with these over emmissioned diesels. The tune is Malone/tunezilla stage 2 which gives you the flex to turn off the egr and/or fully delete it off the car. But any egr delete will require dpf delete also. This part shows the EGR full delete and removal segment. I also mentioned the addition of Koni active front struts that we did at the same time.
Sensors that are unplugged and removed on full delete;
The "Unplug List" (7 Total)
In a full Delete/tune out, you are typically unplug the following to ensure the ECU stops monitoring them:
1. EGT Sensor 2: (Pre-DPF)
2. EGT Sensor 3: (Post-DPF)
3. EGT Sensor 4: (Post-SCR)
4. NOx Sensor: The control module and sensor located near the mid-pipe.
5. DPF Differential Pressure Sensor: The one with the two rubber hoses (tucked near the firewall).
6. AdBlue/DEF Injector: The dosing valve plug.
7. AdBlue/DEF Tank Module: Usually a large connector at the tank (or you can just pull the fuse for the DEF system).
The "Stay Plugged In" Exception
• EGT Sensor 1 (Primary): This is the sensor located directly in the turbo manifold. Keep this one. The ECU still needs this to monitor the heat coming off the turbo to prevent melting your hardware.
• Primary \bm{O_2} Sensor: Located at the top of the downpipe. This must remain active for fueling calculations.
For those that dont know;
Under Texas law (30 TAC §114.50), all diesel-powered vehicles are exempt from emissions testing statewide
