Описание: La Digue is the smallest of the three main islands of the Seychelles and has a lot of beautiful beaches. It is about 3 times 4 kilometers in size. There are almost no cars and everyone takes the bike to get around. On the island there are many small accommodations which suit every budget. A bike rental is about 10 euros per day and is totally worth it because it's the simplest way to visit all the beaches.

The most famous beach and picturesque is Anse Source d'Argent on the south western side of the island. Perfect for swimming and relaxing are the Grand Anse and Petite Anse Beach on the south eastern side. And Anse Patates is a small but very beautiful beach on the northern side of the island. Basically there is a beach all around the island - so everybody will find a favorite. :-)

Snorkeling is great at the island although if you have the time a half day boat trip to Grande Soeur and Felicite is probably the best you can do there.

On La Digue itself lives the Giant tortoise which can be seen all over the island an in particular at the Union Estate park.

La Digue ist die kleinste der drei Hauptinseln der Seychellen und hat viele schöne Strände. Es ist etwa 3 mal 4 Kilometer groß. Es gibt fast keine Autos und alle nehmen das Fahrrad, um sich fortzubewegen. Auf der Insel gibt es viele kleine Unterkünfte für jedes Budget. Ein Fahrradverleih kostet etwa 10 Euro pro Tag und lohnt sich auf jeden Fall, da es die einfachste Art ist, alle Strände zu besuchen.

Der berühmteste und malerischste Strand ist Anse Source d'Argent auf der Südwestseite der Insel. Perfekt zum Schwimmen und Entspannen sind der Grand Anse und der Petite Anse Beach auf der südöstlichen Seite. Und Anse Patates ist ein kleiner, aber sehr schöner Strand auf der Nordseite der Insel. Im Grunde gibt es überall auf der Insel einen Strand – so findet jeder seinen Favoriten. :-)

Schnorcheln ist großartig auf der Insel, noch besser ist ein halbtägiger Bootsausflug nach Grande Soeur und Felicite. Auf La Digue selbst lebt die Riesenschildkröte, die auf der ganzen Insel und insbesondere im Union Estate Park zu sehen ist.
