The reason for the pause in the action at around 3:09 is that the mime created an invisible wall. I waited out its duration, since I could tell from my tracker that the mime wasn't leaving.

Despite chasing the silently screaming mime in front of countless bystanders and performing the kill itself in broad daylight in front of two witnesses, I faced no consequences for this murder... even after the mime was revived (bringing the witness count up to three). This truly says a lot about our society.

The screenshot from the thumbnail is from later in the round (when I sadly wasn't recording). I had learned that the mime needed to STAY dead for that murder objective to count, so after they were revived by Medbay, I cornered her, stunned her, and handcuffed her. She screamed silently as I dragged her to the chapel, and she broke her vow of silence to scream vocally over comms as I attempted to cremate her alive. Sadly, I fumbled the process of shoving her into the crematorium a bit, and I wasn't able to complete it in the ~30-45 seconds I had before the station's security team broke into the room to stop me (which was surprisingly competent of them, seeing as how I had faced no consequences for performing the first kill in broad daylight in front of two witnesses).

I technically didn't manage to complete my mechanical objectives, but I instilled enough terror in that mime to make her break her oath, which I consider to be true victory.
