Описание: In the 13th year of the Dazhong era of the Tang Dynasty, numerous anti-corruption and anti-tyranny organizations emerged among the people, with the Flying Daggers Sect—which rallied under the banner of "Kill the Rich, Aid the Poor, and Overthrow the Court"—being the most powerful. The sect's headquarters was located in Fengtian County, close to the capital, Chang'an. To ensure the safety of the capital, the imperial court ordered the Fengtian County government to eradicate all members of the Flying Daggers Sect.

The county's two chief constables, Constable Liu (Andy Lau) and Constable Jin (Takeshi Kaneshiro), were tasked with capturing the newly appointed leader of the sect within a strict deadline. Suspecting that a dancing girl named Mei (Zhang Ziyi) from the Peony Pavilion might be the daughter of the former sect leader, Constable Liu devised a plan to arrest and imprison her. Later, he and Constable Jin set another trap—this time having Jin pose as a righteous warrior to rescue her—hoping to gain her trust and uncover the sect's hideout.
