Binga Hospital Nurses Quarters: A Dream Realized!

The hospital, a partnership between the First Lady's foundation, Angel of Hope, and MATTER, led by Jeannie Burns Buckner, has been operational since summer 2022, and has already had a profound impact. It's treated thousands of patients and delivered nearly 200 babies. Prior to the opening, many women had to walk extensive distances to deliver their children. The hospital is changing this by encouraging mothers to stay on the grounds from early pregnancy until delivery.

But it's not just the patients who are being cared for; doctors and nurses also receive accommodations on-site. Through the generous donations of supporters, including a campaign called Nurses Helping Nurses, a nurses' quarters, equipped with common living area, kitchen, and bedrooms, is nearing completion.

The hospital is proving to be a game-changer for the Binga community, representing not just improved healthcare but a profound affirmation of the community's worth. It stands as a testament to the conviction that their lives matter and that every birth deserves a safe and comfortable environment.
