This model had had a lot of attention in the few days since people started to receive them, and deservedly so. It's the best model Hornby have ever released in my opinion. It's far better built than some of the recently released models we have seen from other manufacturers, without compromising on detail or spec.
It could also be the model which makes diehard Loksound and Zimo users take HM7000 seriously, as it really shows off the capability of the decoder, and sounds very good through Hornby's own EM1 type speaker. It has all the functionality you might want from a modern model, including independent tail lights you can turn off, directional cab lights which turn off as you drive away, and even flange squeal which detects corners!
I bought mine without sound but fitted the sound to the same spec, the only minor modification I made was to disconnect the sugarcube speaker by unplugging it from the PCB, I felt the sound was more powerful and impressive without it.
