Scientists at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems have created a flexible soft millirobot that can curl, crawl, roll, deliver medicine, and even stop internal bleeding using heat.
This 2-cm mini robot is designed with overlapping aluminum scales just like a pangolin. When controlled by magnetic fields, it can move freely inside the human body without harming soft tissues.
At high-frequency magnetic fields, it heats up to 70°C (158°F), allowing it to:
