1. Prepare the Data
Open ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro.
Add your feature class (e.g., polygons, lines, or points).
Make sure all layers are in the same coordinate system.
2. Create a Geodatabase Topology
Right-click on your Feature Dataset → New → Topology.
Give a name and cluster tolerance (default is okay).
Add the feature classes you want to include.
Define topology rules (e.g., “Must Not Overlap,” “Must Not Have Gaps,” etc.).
Finish and let ArcGIS build the topology.
3. Validate the Topology
Add the Topology layer to your map.
Use Topology Toolbar → Validate Topology in Current Extent.
ArcGIS will show topology errors (red, green symbols).
4. Fix Topology Errors
Open Error Inspector.
Click Search Now to list all errors.
Right-click each error → choose a fix option:
Merge, Move to Feature, Create Feature, Mark as Exception, etc.
5. Revalidate
After corrections, validate again to ensure all errors are resolved.
6. Export Corrected Data
Once clean, export your layer as a new feature class for final use.''''''
