How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the BulletProof Hitches 14,000 pound adjustable ball mount in aluminum. This is going to be a very versatile tool that's gonna allow you to make the adjustments to carry a wide variety of trailers and campers. So let's take a closer look. The first thing that you're gonna notice with this guy is the fact that you have this nice polished finish on it versus that super thick powder coat that you see on the steel BulletProof Hitches. Generally what this is is gonna be 61/60 aluminum. That's gonna be the same type of aluminum they use for aircrafts, and what it's doing for you is gonna give you a lot of durability.

It's gonna give you corrosion resistance, and this is gonna give you a nice lightweight material to get a lot of work out of. You're gonna also have two steel balls that are chrome plated. You have a 2-5/16 and a 2 inch that's all secured using these two stainless steel 5/8 diameter pins. So these guys are gonna all work together to keep everything right where you need it to be and make all your adjustments. Something you will need to add is gonna be a pin and clip for your 2-1/2 inch receiver or a locking bolt.

I usually suggest going with a locking bolt 'cause more times than failure what you're going to experience with ball mounts are gonna just be, they tend to grow legs and walk away. So let's flip it over and just take a closer look at it. Alright, we're just gonna put our shank in the drop position and what the drop position does for you it's gonna allow you to actually throw your ball mount away when you're not towing and it's also gonna let you get lower to the ground if necessary. So with your two inch receiver, I'm gonna slot this pin in here. Your 2 inch ball is gonna carry up to 10,000 pounds and then you're gonna have your 2-5/16 that goes all the way up to 14K.

Your tongue weight is set right at 2,000 pounds. However, you don't lose any capacity based on the configuration of rise drop or whatever. It's all dependent on the tow ball itself. Another thing that I think is super cool about this is the fact that when you're not towing, you can actually stow away your ball mount underneath your carrier. You're only able to use the bottom two bolt holes, but you can get that slid right in.

Now speaking of these pinholes, they are 5/8 diameter and you get 10 of them along the way. You can also get kits that are out there that are gonna allow you to lock these pins as well. So the overall length of your ball mount going from end to end is 10-3/4 inches. If you go from just the space from the rear to the front of your shank, you're right at 8-3/8. Alright, as far as the two holes you're gonna have on your receiver, you're gonna be 9-1/4 inches from our farthest back hole to the center of your ball, and then from the nearest hole here is gonna be 8 inches from the center of your ball. So that's gonna give you a lot of flexibility and a lot of adjustability to get level with your trailer. Another cool thing that I always suggest is adding ball lubricant. This is gonna go right here on top of the ball and it's gonna help this pivot point with your coupler basically move a lot smoother. It's gonna cause it to be quieter and it's also gonna keep that chrome finish looking nice longer. Something to be aware of if you already own BulletProof Hitch accessories like steps and attachment lunette rings and things like that, these will not be compatible with the aluminum devices. When it comes to towing accessories, I have a lot of brands that I really like and I would say BulletProof Hitches is the same and this is no different from any of the other ones that I experienced. I was actually shocked at the weight of the box itself. If you've ever handled BulletProof Hitches products, their steel hitches are really beefy solid core and they require a little bit extra muscle, whereas this one is lightweight but gives you very similar weight capacities as they're medium duty ball mounts.
