Welcome to the first installment of my original fiction on The Monster & The Child! I will be reading aloud my YA novel manuscript, OUR SHARP FORSAKEN TEETH. Meet Millie Peng, a failed experiment. The rogue scientist Dr. Topher tried to make her a werewolf, but instead of turning into a powerful shapeshifter, Millie is locked in a cycle of erratic, mindless, and painful transformations. Dr. Topher fled from justice, and Millie was left with her fellow “synthetic” subjects, damaged monuments to violent ambition.
In these first three chapters, we see what life as a failed werewolf entails, and we learn about Millie's desire to lead a harmless life. Spoiler alert: that's all about to get even more complicated for her. I hope you enjoy the beginning of her story!
