Day 48 of writing a song every day - “So many times”

Описание: This is day 48 of writing 354 songs in 354 days—that’s a song a day for almost a year. Previously, I challenged myself to write 100 songs in 100 days, but I now I feel it’s time to up the ante.

The goal this time is to write at least two verses, and one chorus, record a video of me playing the song, and uploading it to YouTube, TikTok, and instagram.

This will accomplish three things:
1. Develop my songwriting skills
2. Build a bigger audience
3. Connect me with other musicians, songwriters, and artists

Today’s song is called “so many times”, and it’s about how consumerism shapes our habits.

Another morning
Catch my breath
Catch my balance
Catch me off guard

Medicate myself
Repair my choices
That I delayed
For a future me
Why do I do this to myself

Is this all there is?
Keeping up with the warnings
Of a death by self-consuming
Is it fair to say
A snake eating its tail
Can only stay alive another day
So many times

Did you hear the news?
The waters toxic
Try a different kind
From a different brand
A different chance to die

Is it possible
To be this stupid?
To make a wrong right turn
And still be wrong
When I take a left?
