On May 20th, 1999, Paramount's Kings Island held its media preview day for their new 315-foot Intamin Gyro Drop ride named Drop Zone. The park also did a publicity stunt to hype the new ride by inviting twenty couples to be married on the attraction. For the first couple of years, the ride did spin riders twice before dropping them. For the last several years the gondola only spins once before reaching the top, as of 2018.
This video contains a separate audio commentary track. A faint reference track of the original audio can be slightly heard in the background.
In memory of Bruce Spriggs and Cheryl Snyder, whom both are included in this video.
