In this video we started our trek from #sonmarg to #thajiwas #glacier which is an easy and short #trek . Thajiwas Glacier trek or #walk is one of the prime attractions of a trip to #sonamarg . The 2.3 kilometers long trek passes through lush green pastures, and a beautiful forest, and ends at a viewpoint from where you get a clear view of the glacier.It can be reached by taking a 30 minutes hike. #ponies are also available for hire from Sonmarg. There are a few tea stalls at the #viewpoint where you can get something to eat before starting on your way back.
If you are brave enough, you can actually continue beyond that point and get a little closer to the glacier. However, the trek does get a little more difficult and trickier after that.
Located at a height of 3000m, Thajiwas glacier is referred to as ‘The hidden jewel of #kashmir .’ One of the primary attractions of Sonamarg, it is loaded with lush green meadows and soaring snow-clad #mountains . This picturesque site is also famous among trekkers and adventure seekers. It mostly remains covered in snow, however one can hire sledges as well to have some fun. The beauty of Thajiwas Glacier is bound to make you feel mesmerized. Watch:
