Here’s another example.
You give her an easy exit.
You say:
“I’m grabbing water. You can catch up with them if you want.”
No pressure.
No attachment.
If she stays, you acknowledge it lightly:
“Look at you choosing to stay.”
No praise.
No reward.
Just reflection.
If she explains and says something like,
“That’s what I wanted,”
her identity is now attached to the decision.
This is behavioral psychology.
People align future actions with past explanations.
Once she labels her behavior as interest, comfort, or curiosity,
her mind filters reality to support that label.
You didn’t convince her.
You let her convince herself.
