The Structural Transformation and Economic Growth (STEG) programme hosted this first paper presentation as part of its research initiative to better understand structural change, productivity, and growth in low- and middle-income countries.
In a webinar from Wednesday November 18 2020, STEG welcomed Professor Justin Yifu Lin (Institute of New Structural Economics, Peking University, and former World Bank Chief Economist) and Associate Professor Haipeng Xing (Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics, State University of New York, Stony Brook) to present their paper "Endogenous Structural Transformation in Economic Development", which proposes a novel method to model the structural transformation in a market economy.
