U.S. Immigration Banned? |Temporary Order Suspends Green Cards into the United States

On Wednesday April 23, 2020, President Trump signed a proclamation temporarily suspending green cards for 60 days, that would include all immigrants from abroad, subject to certain exemptions. According to President Trump, the suspension was implemented to safeguard U.S. workers during this unprecedented economic caused by the spread of COVID-19.

Although several exemptions were provided, narrowing the ban, its effect will still cause a slump in immigration levels into the U.S. and cause a barrier to family reunification.
