This is not an accident; it is a calculated technique for unloading large, monolithic natural loads where tipping the container is more efficient than manual removal. The truck bed acts as a tilting tray. The key is the load's composition: densely compacted soil held together by a mat of roots creates a single, firm block with a relatively low angle of repose. By slowly tilting the bed, the workers allow gravity to overcome the static friction between the load and the bed's surface at a controlled moment, causing the entire mass to slide off as one piece.
