Primary(1°), Secondary(2°) and Tertiary(3°)Alcohol can be distinguished by Victor Meyer's Method. in this method Primary(1°), Secondary(2°) and Tertiary(3°)Alcohol are treated with different reagent step wisely.
In this method, Primary(1°) alcohol gives Blood red colouration, Secondary(2°) alcohol gives blue colouration and Tertiary(3°)Alcohol does not give colour.
