EP48 港九全日特快線8P號線 見證港島九龍市區發展 Citybus and KMB Express Route 8P シティバス8P系統と九龍バス8P系統

Описание: 在講求節奏快及效率高的香港，特快路線在巴士服務中發揮重要角色。這些路線的路線編號大多以P或X字尾作結，並取道高速公路及設較少車站，在繁忙時段接載住宅區的乘客前往商業區。不過，今集介紹的「同編號的路線組合」，是全港唯一一對提供每日全日服務的特快路線，它們分別是城巴8P號線及九巴8P號線。

兩條8P號線在不少地方均十分相似。除了同樣在1998年投入服務外，兩線最初均屬於一條路線的特別班次，並因客量持續上升而提升至每日全日行走。目前，兩條8P號線分別為港島東及九龍黃埔的乘客提供直達核心地區的特快服務，並與原有的主線及區內其他路線作協調，可以說見證兩區的交通發展。

27年後的今日，兩條8P號線的處境有明顯分別。城巴8P號線因小西灣沒有鐵路，加上比鐵路更快的走線，至今仍是港島東重要的特快線。至於九巴8P號線則在兩條新鐵路通車後，客量出現流失，幸好因取道紅磡繞道一程過往返尖沙咀碼頭而獲得部分黃埔居民支持。

今集除了會帶大家乘坐兩條8P號線外，也會介紹與兩條8P號線相關路線的歷史及發展。相信大家經過這集後，會更了解港島東及九龍市區的交通發展。請細心欣賞！

Living in the fast-paced and efficient city, express routes play an important role in Hong Kong bus services. Most of them have route numbers ending with a P or X, and they use highways with fewer stops. They carry passengers from residential areas to commercial districts during peak hours. However, this episode introduces a unique group of express routes providing all-day service daily, which is the only pair in Hong Kong Bus. They are Citybus Route 8P and KMB Route 8P.

Both Route 8P are similar in many aspects. Both began service in 1998 as special departures of a route, and were upgraded to full-day operation due to a continuous increase in ridership. Currently, both Route 8P provide direct express services to core areas for passengers in Hong Kong Island East and Kowloon Whampoa. They also coordinate with the original main routes and other local routes, thus witnessing the development of transportation in both areas.

Today, 27 years later, the circumstances of the two Route 8P are different. Citybus Route 8P remains an important express route for Hong Kong Island East due to the lack of railway service in Siu Sai Wan and its faster route compared to the railway. In contrast, KMB Route 8P has experienced a decline in passenger numbers following the opening of two new railway lines. Fortunately, it still has some support from Whampoa residents due to the usage of Hung Hom Bypass for Star Ferry.

In this episode, I will not only take rides on the two Route 8P, but also explore the history and development of related routes. I believe that after this episode, you will have a better understanding of the transportation development in Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. Please enjoy!
