Using Description
The description needs to be effective for it to be used well. More importantly, you must realise the value of description in developing your story and why your marker will care about it. You need to be an effective communicator.

Imagery
Imagery is the most common technique of story-writing, including figurative and literal descriptions. Anything that describes something can be classed as a form of imagery. Using imagery requires you to identify what descriptions need to be shown. For instance: If I wanted to paint the portrait of a bad guy, all I need to do is give him a scowling smile, withered and pointed teeth and heavy brooding eyes.
