Exclusive end-grain chevron cutting board part 1

Описание: After months of custom orders, I found some time for an “unconstrained” board.

I’ve been wanting to revisit one of my most popular designs: an end-grain chevron (or “zig-zag”) board at the center, surrounded by a seemingly random but carefully balanced mix of woods near the borders.

For the chevron, I used black walnut with a striking spotted pattern, centered around beech and thin maple veneers. The outer zones include white oak, tigerwood, and more walnut, creating a subtle gradient.

It’s a tricky piece because every measurement has to be spot-on to avoid misalignments, especially at the transition between the chevron and the borders. Precise and clean cuts were made possible thanks to the red ‪@Freudtools‬ blades from ‪@sautershop-channel‬ , and of course, as always, ‪@Titebond‬ did its part too.
