Modak, a popular Indian sweet dumpling, one of the favorite dishes of Lord Ganesha is offered to him at prayers during Ganesh Chaturthi.
Today we are preparing kaju modak or modak made with cashew nuts, a simple but very delicious saffron-flavored kaju modak. Do try it & give your feedback.

Ingredients (makes 5-7 modaks)
1 cup/100 grams kaju/cashew nuts
1/3 cup/60 grams organic sugar
1/3 cup water
1 tsp desi ghee/clarified butter
25-30 strands of kesar/saffron, soaked in 1 tbsp warm milk
powdered sugar or desi ghee, as needed for sprinkling in/greasing the modak mould
