In this video I restored an old metal shear made by "Mubea". Unfortunately I don't know the age of the tool, if you have an idea please let me know in the comments!
I bought it from the scrap yard last year for 20 bucks.
As you can see in the video I had some issues getting the two screws out. Since the video would have been way longer I had to remove a little bit of the footage where I tried to remove the screws. I tried different rust removers, penetrating oils, pressing it out with the vice etc. Nothing worked. The reason I did not heat it up in the first place was because I would have ruined the heat treatment on the blades and since new fitting blades are A hard to find and B very expensive I really didn't want to take that risk. Luckily I got them out at the end but it actually took me more time than planned.
After a lot of overthinking I decided to paint the parts in RAL 6009 "fir green" and I am really happy with the result.
