In this video, we will demonstrate how to properly clean your Acu-Rite SENC Glass Scales

Note: The new reader head is backwards compatible with the older model glass scales. However, the older reader head isn’t compatible with the newer model glass scales.

Here are the tools needed:
Needle nose pliers
Cotton swabs
Alcohol pads

1. Remove the end caps on both ends
2. Remove the reader head
3. Remove the plastic shield
4. Clean the glass scale using a pre-moistened alcohol pad. Use a cotton swab to guide it through.
5. Dry up any leftover debris using a dry cotton swab.
6. Clean the sensor on the reader head.
7. Reinstall the plastic shields.
8. Next, re-install the reader head. First, remove both red guide brackets to feed in the reader head without obstruction. Make sure that the tab and the ball socket are in place as shown. You can now feed the reader head through the railing.
9. Once the reader is seated properly, you can now reinstall the guide brackets. Make sure that the correct brackets are installed as labeled. (ie. A-A, 2-2; B-B, 1-1)
10. Lastly, reinstall the end caps.
