Starting time of competitions on Friday, 23 August 2013, and Saturday, 24 August 2013, is nominally 6 PM but may be somewhat later if folks are bashful and resist being first up. There has never been any set order for the competitions in the past. Competitions are taken as they line up with bands and individuals mixed. Band competitions tend to be later- after 10 PM. Friday night tends to be over before mid-night but Saturday sometimes goes into Sunday AM.

This is strictly an old-time competition with no bluegrass categories. Lots of bluegrass pickin' is usually present in the camping area and parking lot, however.
