It's January 4, 2026, and I have to say Santa Claus was very good to me, bringing me gift certificates for several plane rides. Today, I'm taking three rides with Dan Fordice of the Southern Heritage Air Foundation (www.southernheritageair.org). This ride is in an Aviat A-1B Husky on floats, a plane that previously belonged to Kirk Fordice (Dan's dad and the former governor of the State of Mississippi). On this trip, we will be tooling up and down the MS River, checking out an oxbow lake, and doing several water landings.
The Southern Heritage Air Foundation is located in Louisiana at the Vicksburg Tallulah Regional Airport (KVTR), just across the Mississippi River from Vicksburg, MS. They operate a great museum and offer rides in numerous planes such as a P-51, T-6, Waco YMF-5, Gamebird GB-1, and this Husky. Go check them out and take a ride!! Enjoy the video!
