One state that IMGs should definitely consider when applying to residency programs is Florida. Florida is one of the largest and most diverse states in the US. With 38 family medicine residency programs, there are many options for family medicine residency applicants. In this video, Dr. Katta will be going over the top 10 most IMG friendly family medicine residency programs in Florida. There is more to it than just what percentage of residents in the program are IMGs. There are other factors to consider, including minimum USMLE Step scores (cut-off Step 1 and cut-off Step 2 scores), medical school graduation year cutoffs, and visas offered. (Although Step 1 now has pass/fail scoring, these cut-offs may still apply for scores from prior years.)
