Tansi (Hello, how are you in Cree)!
At “Back to Batoche 2025,” I was truly honored to finally meet Ryan Keplin, the proud Métis fiddler from Montana. He’s known for his unique left-handed style and for the special fiddle events he hosts down south.
One of the things that really stood out was how he walked right into the crowd with his wireless fiddle—something you don’t see many entertainers do—and made everyone feel welcome and part of the show.
I got to chat with him, take a picture, and genuinely made a new friend from across the border. Cora was there too, and the girls loved dancing along with the crowd. It was an incredibly special night, and I’m excited to share this experience with everyone. Ryan is a super down to earth guy, and very humble man and I am sure happy to finally have met him in person.
Perhaps next time Ryan and I cross paths we can have a sit down with a coffee and perhaps an interview.
