tread softly (Score Video)-- Cantamus App Playback

Описание: A setting of Yeats' poem "He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven" for SATB Chorus, a cappella, written for my wife on the occasion of her birthday. The original text is as follows:

Had I the heavens’ embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

I suspect the somewhat frequent modulation might make this piece more challenging a cappella, however, I have endeavored to keep modulatory tones as neighbors rather than large, unidiomatic leaps in most cases, hopefully easing some of those transitions. Additionally, I imagine the piece to have somewhat more ebb and flow, tempo-wise than what synthetic renders can easily achieve, and as such, please do not take the rendering here as the only possible interpretation-- I believe most of the opportunities for more rubato interpretations should be fairly obvious to most ensembles/conductors, and I would encourage such departures from what is strictly on the page.

Although the last time I posted one of these, it proved somewhat divisive, I very much enjoy that the cantamus app's playback, though certainly not "realistic" by any means, is very good at giving one the sense for how actual performance could go. As with the last time I posted a score video, I have tweaked the cantamus app playback quite significantly, layering different performances over one another and using transposition tricks to get a fuller, more truly "choral" sound, and would be happy to make a separate video that goes over that process.
