The roadworks are finished and the pass to the Col du Soulor is open again. 🛑🚧
The works were here because a large part of the route is scheduled for the Tour de France '25. 🚴
But be careful, as a layer of tar/pitch has been applied in some places. On top of that, a lot of ultra-fine gravel was scattered. We quickly noticed this as we felt our rear wheels start to dance. Slow and steady here.
After Soulor, we’ll head over the beautiful but narrow Col de Spandelles. Then, the mother of all the cols in the Pyrenees appears—the legendary Tourmalet. ⛰️
The Tourmalet in all possible scenarios. Rain at the base, dry as we ascend, and mystical in the descent.

We’ll sleep at a campsite with a view of the Pic du Midi. Grabbed a delicious pizza and had a nice chat with the locals. "Ahaa, êtes-vous Belges?" And the conversation went on about cycling and beer. 🍕
