In January 2026, my grandfather and I set out on an unforgettable adventure across Costa Rica to document its incredible wildlife and biodiversity.
This first episode takes us from the bustling capital of San José into the legendary cloud forests of Monteverde. Along the way we search for some of the region’s most iconic species – from dazzling hummingbirds and the sacred resplendent quetzal to toucans and even venomous snakes hidden deep within the forest.

During our journey we also explore the meaning of the famous Costa Rican phrase “Pura Vida” by speaking with locals and discovering the culture behind it.
This video is part travel vlog, part wildlife documentary – a personal look at one of the most biodiverse places on Earth.

I’m Julius, a 20-year-old nature photographer from Finland documenting wildlife and adventures around the world. This film was shot using OM SYSTEM and DJI Osmo cameras.
