Описание: Sony and Housemarque just revealed a major gameplay feature for Saros, and I think it might completely change how this rogue-lite shooter plays. In the latest State of Play gameplay overview, we finally got a closer look at Primary, the hub system that powers Saros’ permanent progression mechanics, including the Armor Matrix skill tree, Carcosan Modifiers risk/reward system, and the World Dial biome fast travel interface.

In this video, I break down everything we saw in the gameplay trailer and share my theories about how Saros will evolve the formula established by Returnal. If you’ve been waiting to see how Housemarque will handle skill trees, permanent upgrades, and progression between cycles, this new system looks like the answer.

I go step-by-step through the Primary system, explaining how Arjun upgrades his armor through the Armor Matrix skill tree, spends Lucenites, and possibly collects the mysterious Halcyon resource. I also dive into the Carcosan Modifiers, which allow players to customize their run with selectable buffs (Protections) and debuffs (Trials), creating a much deeper risk vs reward gameplay loop than what we saw with parasites in Returnal.

Finally, I explore the World Dial, Saros’ biome selection and fast-travel system, and discuss what the five known locations on Carcosa might mean for the structure of the campaign.

On top of that, I share several theories about Primary, the voice of Soltari, the mysterious Halcyon resource, and how Saros’ weapon progression and proficiency system might work compared to Returnal.
