Taman Negara 130 MILLION year old Rainforest day Malaysia National Park

Описание: 130 million years old. The oldest in the world along with another in Australia I believe. Beautiful National Park tour about 4 hours drive north of Kuala Lumpur peninsula Malaysia. Amazing to think how long this forest has been here. Riding on boats along the river, hiking in the thick jungle, canopy walking (which was the worst part because of 2 hour wait I was frustrated by), but it felt very serene to forest bathe and be in the nature despite the crowds. Also hitting some rapids on the river with the giant jungle trees in the backdrop was super fun. Keep sustaining places like this for future generations! Save the rainforests and stop cutting them down out of greed and stupidity. Places like this are sadly rare now and it was an honor to visit this place.

One of my favorite parts was visiting an actual village of the oldest Southeast Asians. Which are tribes of people that have been here from 30,000-70,000 years ago since the first migrations out of Africa. I have been fascinated by these people who largely were displaced by different waves of people just a few thousand years ago, like the Austronesians who came to the Malay Peninsula about 3,000 years ago, that is the majority of the population now. Often called "Negritos" or a variation of that word but 18 different tribes live in Malaysia and pockets of them are all over Southeast Asia like the Philippines, Indonesia, and more. They have African features like dark skin and curly hair and some tribes still live nomadic lifestyles, hunt monkeys with poison blow darts, and live in small communities in the forest. It felt a little weird that their village was a tourist stop, so I didn't photo or gawk too much, but it was amazing see these people.
