Tonya Mel-
The Dance is Performed during the Holi Festivel in Goa by the Velip Community People.
It has the rituals Meaning to the Toni called Stick
The Dance is Perfomed for that Period only i.e after shivrathi and Before Holi Festival.
It is Perforemed by Male Artist used to travel 3 days in differnt nearby villages with bare foot.
They should not take bath for 3 days once they left thier home unltil they come home after 3 days.
Toniya mel has special meaning for Shigmo Festival in Goa.
The Art is followed by the Chavrang ( a stories in form of kani (song) based on stories of ramayana mahabharata or local stories)
