You get Valhein when you start playing, is he a decent Marksman?
I think he plays well 1v1 scenarios because of his single target stun, his fast lane clear thanks to his passive and 1st skill and the harass he can provide with his passive. His passive can have some nice procs, the best one being the stun of course, but it being random takes away reliability from the hero. You are pretty much hoping to get that stun glaive as much as possible that's the only thing you can do, hope. During teamfights he isn't that strong because as I said you have to deal with randomness, your 1st skill becomes pretty much useless, in general other Marksman can be better.

This is a pretty standard Marksman Build with Lifesteal, Big Crits, High Armor Penetration and High Base Damage. If you want you can swap boots with War Boots but these ones are a good choice too.

Anyway going back to how viable he is, considering that you can get Violet for free just by completing a couple of Ranked Matches (this promotion may change in the future of course) my advice is focusing more on playing Violet.
