In this video, "How do I know if I have Rheumatoid Arthritis", professor Hatem Eleishi explains the most important criteria that would make the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis. Some patients believe that lab tests, like rheumatoid factor or anti-CCP antibody are the most important. That is not true. The most important are the symptoms of the patient, namely joint pain, joint swelling, morning stiffness and the distribution of the joints affected. Also the physical examination of the patient is important. Details of the history of the patient will always help to exclude other conditions that might mimic rheumatoid arthritis like psoriatic arthritis for example and osteoarthritis in its more generalized forms.
