A worship prayer rooted fully and faithfully in Philippians 4:6–7 (KJV)
📖 Foundation Scripture (KJV)
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6–7
This song was written as a direct response to God’s command, not as a motivational slogan. Scripture does not tell us to manage anxiety better; it tells us to replace anxiety with prayer. Every verse, chorus, and bridge follows the order God Himself established moving from worry, to prayer, to thanksgiving, and finally to peace. 🙏
🎶 VERSE 1 – “BE CAREFUL FOR NOTHING”
The opening verse confronts anxiety at its root. In Scripture, “be careful” means to be anxious, divided in mind, or weighed down by worry. God’s command is clear and authoritative. He does not say try not to worry He says do not live there. This echoes the words of Jesus:
📖 “Take therefore no thought for the morrow…” (Matthew 6:34).
The verse exposes how fear grows when burdens are carried silently, and how freedom begins when those burdens are surrendered to God. 🌙
🎶 PRE CHORUS – “IN EVERY THING BY PRAYER”
Here the song shifts from command to obedience. God does not minimize problems; He redirects them. “In every thing” means nothing is excluded financial pressure, family struggles, health fears, spiritual battles.
📖 “Call unto me, and I will answer thee…” (Jeremiah 33:3).
Prayer is not escape; it is alignment with heaven. 🙌
🎶 CHORUS – “SUPPLICATION WITH THANKSGIVING”
The chorus reveals the posture of true faith. Supplication is humble asking, and thanksgiving is praise offered before the answer appears. This is biblical worship.
📖 “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
Thanksgiving silences fear and declares trust. Even while waiting, faith praises. 💛
🎶 VERSE 2 – “LET YOUR REQUESTS BE MADE KNOWN”
God already knows our needs, yet He commands us to bring them to Him. This verse teaches surrender, not control.
📖 “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” (1 Peter 5:7).
Speaking our requests to God releases us from carrying what we were never meant to bear alone. 🕊️
🎶 BRIDGE – THE PROMISE OF PEACE
The bridge points to the result of obedience: peace. Not the absence of trouble, but the presence of God.
📖 “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7).
This peace stands guard over the heart and mind, even when circumstances remain unchanged. 🔥
🎶 FINAL CHORUS – TRUST OVER FEAR
The final chorus becomes a declaration. Anxiety no longer leads; prayer does. Fear no longer speaks loudest; faith does.
📖 “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee…” (Isaiah 26:3).
The song ends not with answers, but with trust and that trust is victory. ✝️
🙏 FINAL PRAYER
Lord God, teach us to obey Your Word. Replace anxiety with prayer, fear with faith, and silence with thanksgiving. We lay every request at Your feet, trusting You completely, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
📌 WHY THIS SONG MATTERS
In an anxious generation, God’s Word still speaks peace. This song is a reminder that prayer is not optional it is God’s remedy for worry.
